Age 78, of Herrick Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 1, 1926 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late John and Emma (Lindsay) Bush. He was also predeceased by his sister, Shirley Ludy; brother, Ed Bush; sister-in-law, Helen Bush. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret ?Maggie?; beloved daughters and son-in-laws, Debbie and Gary Burlew Sr. of Horseheads, NY; Sandy and Steve Bradt of Mount Morris, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Gary Burlew Jr. and Olivia, Tina (Jason) Willey, Michelle Burlew and Brian, Sarah (Dave) Whitehead and Justin Bradt; siblings, Irene (Tom) Connolly of Colorado; Ted (Irene) Bush of Florida; Bernice Bush, Helen (Jack) Shaffer, Tom Bush, Jimmy Bush and Phyllis (Delos) Snyder all of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law, Dean Ludy of Horseheads, NY; sister-in-law, Nancy Bush of Corning, NY; special friend and sister-in-law, Sophie Clements of Pine City, NY and her girls: Sharon, Pat, Janice, Kim and Eileen; sister-in-law, Nancy (Al) Ryan of Elmira, NY; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was a Veteran of the US Navy and proudly served his country during WW II on the USS Randolph Aircraft Carrier in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge # 62 Elmira Elks Club and retired from Moore Business Forms as a pressman after 38 years of dedicated service. He was also a faithful employee of Mandell?s Restaurant for 16 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 6 to 9 PM and on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral Services celebrating Donald?s life will be held there following the Wednesday visitation at 11:00 AM.Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery Horseheads, NY, where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Bush full Military Honors.
