Donald Earl â??Don�? Parow

Age 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at home after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 23, 1913 in DeKalb Junction, NY. His loving wife of 64 years, Jessie, who passed away August 30, 2000 preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his son, Donald Parow Jr. Donald was a loving son of the late Earl and Geneva (Gillett) Parow. He is survived by his beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Kenneth Thurston of Beaver Dams, NY; Joanne Miller and Skip Hollenbeck of Elmira, NY; Carol and Vern Downing also of Elmira, NY; Donna and Donald Benton of Elmira, NY; 13 grandchildren, James Miller of North Carolina; Joylynn and Brian Landon of Elmira, NY; Jody and Lloyd Arms of Corning, NY; Penny and Donald White of Elmira, NY; Lori Krom of Elmira, NY; Dale Downing Sr. of Elmira, NY; Tammy Maher of Corning, NY; Melissa Christian of Rochester, NY; Frank Allington of Elmira, NY; Kathleen and Mark Watts of Pine City, NY; George and Martia Shaw of Albany, NY; Lucinda and Scott Bouwere of Elmira, NY; Kent and Rachel Thurston of Watkins Glen, NY; Donald?s siblings, Carl Parow of Gouverneur, NY; Freida Masion of Sachets Harbor, NY; Hilda Dibble of Lee Center, NY; along with 28 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Donald was a longtime employee of Remington Rand and retired from Elmira College. He was very devoted to his family and loved them all dearly. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Saturday, July 19, 2003 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held there following the visitation. (2 PM) Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Elmira, NY.
