Donald R. LoopAge 93, of Elmira, NY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 5th floor of St. Joseph’s Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June K. Loop; children, Donna (Walter) Wagner, Karen (Danny) Davis, Pat Birdsall, and Donald (Cindy) Loop; grandchildren; Amy Wagner, Michael (Stacy) Wagner, Chris Birdsall, and Roni Birdsall; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Lucas, and Nathan Wagner; nephews, Bob Loop and Donald Buelow.Donald was a United States Army Air Corp Veteran of WW II, where he served as a navigator on a B17, and was held in an internment camp for over five months. He was returned to the United States thru the American Underground. He was a former employee of Artistic Greeting Card Company and retired from The United States Postal Service. Donald was a Life Member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a Member of the American Legion Post #443, Life member of Five Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America, member of the Masonic Order, National Association of Active & Retired Federal Employees, member of the First United Church of Christ where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Council President and Choir Member. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM in First United Church of Christ, 160 Madison Avenue, Elmira, NY. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
