Donald E. Robinson

Age 79, of Morley Place Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY. He was born May 8, 1924 in Elmira, NY the son of the late George E. and Elizabeth M. (Gray) Robinson. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife Ella Cole Robinson January 22, 2002. His son, Eugene H. Cole, daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann ?Peggy? Cole, sisters, Joyce Robinson and E. Jane Park, brothers, Gordon L. and George R. Robinson also predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved sons, Gerald W. (Freda) Cole Sr. of Elmira, NY; Donald L. Cole of Henrietta, NY; grandchildren, Gerald W. (Sherrell) Cole Jr. of Horseheads, NY; Kim (David) Wethington of Indianapolis, IN; Scott (Ann) Cole of Rochester, NY; Kelly (Chris) Quartieri of Rochester, NY; Lorrie (Jeremy) Raco of Rochester, NY; brother, Richard A. (Sylvia) Robinson of Chemung, NY; along with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Donald was a Veteran of the US Army/Air Force proudly serving his country from 1942 to 1944. During WW II he was a bombardier and flew 35 combat missions with the 8th Air Force. He retired from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance after several years of faithful and dedicated service as a Sales Tax Auditor. He was also a member of the American Legion Clarence Oliver Post # 154 Elmira Heights, NY. At his request there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services to be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery 1200 Walnut Street Elmira, NY on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM. John P.
