Donald R. Saunders

Age 86 of Elmira, NY, Passed away on Friday October 8, 2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.He is survived by wife Janice H. Saunders, Children, Michael (Sharon) Saunders, Donald Jr (Susan) Saunders, Eileen (Donald) McCall, Mary (Gary) Davenport, Mark Saunders and Margaret Saunders; step children, Jack M (Rhoda)Lewis and Marsha (Patrick) Prentice; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Donald was predeceased by his first wife Marian Saunders.He was a World War II Veteran in the Army Combat Paratrooper in the 596 th Engineering Battalion, and of the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team. He was a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion,, member of the Horseheads Elks, also the Horseheads Loyal Order of Moose. Donald retired from the Elmira Heights School District after teaching Algebra for 21` years. For 50 plusyears. Donald was anUsherat St Mary's Church.
