Doris A. Burgess

Doris Arvilla Burgess, Age 89 of Elmira passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility surrounded by family.Doris was born on August 20, 1926 to the late Jake and Maude (Chapman) Teeter in New Albany, PA.She is survived by her sister, Arlie Siler; sons, Ralph (Bill), Richard, and Brian; grandchildren, Jamie, Amanda, Clifford, Joshua and Angelina; many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and friends.She was also predeceased by her son, Gary and brothers, Lloyd, Merlin and Wilkie.Doris was a member of the Elmira Seventh-day Adventist Church and retired from Facet Enterprises after many years of working for Eclipse Machine Company, Bendix, Remington Rand, Thatcher Glass, Chemung County Nursing Facility, private home care and licensed beautician.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Sunday, August 23rd, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and again on Monday the 24th from 11:00AM to Noon. Funeral services celebrating Doris's life will be held there Monday 12:00PM (Noon). Graveside services will follow in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luther Mills, PA.
