Doris L. Dennison Age 82, born June 12, 1934 in Granville Summit, PA, the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Hiney) May, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving and caring family. Her four brothers and six sisters preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Keith E. Dennison; beloved children: son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Marlene Rockwell of Montour Falls, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Michael Hugg of Lowman, NY; son, Kenneth Dennison of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter and fiancée, Kimberly and Larry Lovell of Elmira Heights, NY; along with 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; special niece, Pat Cole; and dear friend, Beverly Keyser. Doris retired from Fairway Springs in Horseheads after many years of dedicated service as a machinist. She loved bowling and was a classic league bowler as well as a member of the 600 club. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower beds. She loved collecting her angels. Doris was a very elegant, classy lady and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 6 pm. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will take place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NY at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations may be made in Doris' honor to the Elmira Animal Shelter, 842 Linden Place, Elmira, NY 14901. Doris' tribute wall may be signed at www.olthof.com.
