Doris Marie Hine

Age 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. She was born September 22, 1926 in Ithaca, NY to the late Harry and Bernice (Dean) Schilling. Doris and her late husband Melvin R. Hine are survived by five children, Dianne (Larry) Kishpaugh of Wilmington, NC; Deborah (Richard) Pane of Punta Gorda, FL, Ronald (Carole) Hine of Wilmington, NC; Martin (Tammie) Hine of Summerfield, NC; and Richard (Lori) Hine of Elmira, NY, ten grandchildren; Quinn, Amy, Tricia, Julie, Ryan, Kevin, Kyle, Eric, Zachary, and Justin; sister, Augusta (Jay) Rumsey of Saint Cloud, FL along with special and dear friend Nancy Parker Comfort. Her sister, Carolyn Hamilton and brother Paul Schilling predeceased her. Family was everything to her and she was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She loved animals, especially her two cats; "Pumpkin" and "Mitzi". A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery (meeting at the main entrance), 1200 Walnut Street, Elmira, NY. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will celebrate Doris' service where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Melvin. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to, The Chemung County Humane Society &SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903 or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport, NY.
