Doris Inscho

Age 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Doris was born on June 5, 1916 in Carter Camp, Pennsylvania to John and Wilhemina Karhan. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Clifton L. Inscho; brothers, Victor, Vincent and Vernon Karhan; sisters, Leonore and Josephine; and son in law, Theodore R. Manns. Survivors include daughter, Patricia A. Manns, of Elmira; grandchildren, Mark C. (Karen Sudbrink) Manns, Kathleen A. Malloy and Kristine M. (Thomas Whispel) Manns, great grandchildren; Heather and Conner Malloy of Elmira and Zachary Eickholt-Manns of Escondido, CA; and step-great-grandchildren, William, Joshua and Johnny Batten; Heather and Conner's father, Allen Malloy; special niece, Valerie (Richard) Darrin of Coudersport, PA,and special friends and neighbors from Crestview Drive including Glenda, Cheryl, Sandy and the Lisi family. Thank you to the wonderful staff on the third floor of the Chemung County Nursing Facility many of whom became her extended family, with special mention of Debbie, Robert, Margo, Philip and Vicki. Also survived by daughter, Jacqueline (Joel) Caccia with her children Joel (Lynn) and Randall (Amy) Caccia, daughters Emma andAnna. Doris will be remembered by her friends and family for her wonderful ability to make us smile. She enjoyed gardening and brightened her neighborhood with her flower gardens. Also her tomato plants were legendary. She shared many seeds with her neighbors and we are sure those plants will be a reminder of her over the years to come. She was also an accomplished seamstress and contracted with various drapery businesses to make drapes for them. At Doris' request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/ Southport on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather to share memories after the service at 411 Upper Oakwood Avenue, Elmira Heights. If you are unable to join us, we hope you will pause during the day and enjoy a memory of Doris, and we hope that memory will bring a smile. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to a charity of your choice. A 'Candle of Remembrance' may be left for her family in obituaries atwww.olthof.com
