Dorothea C. Thomas

Age 83, of County Route # 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital. Dorothea was born September 30,1921 in Monroeton, PA, the daughter of the late Oscar and Florence (Vargason) Chilson. Dorothea married Roland J. Thomas on May 12, 1950 in Waverly, NY. They have celebrated 54 wonderful years of life and love together. She is survived by her beloved husband, Roland; loving daughter, Linda Buckley of Chemung, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Kevin Peel, Matthew St. Pierre, Jared Peel, and Nichole St. Pierre; brother, Lawrence (Elizabeth) Chilson of Pine City, NY; mother-in-law, Elsie Thomas of Chemung, NY; son-in-law, Richard St. Pierre of Mosherville, PA; sister-in-law, Greta Flanagan also of Chemung, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Dorothea was predeceased by her loving children, son, Roland J. Thomas in 1980; daughter, Sharon St. Pierre in 2001; and sister, Gladys Hagios. In her earlier years, Dorothea was employed by the Eclipse in Elmira Heights, NY. Then she and her husband, Roland, purchased their farm in Lowman, and have maintained it through the years. They also worked together in the insurance field for several years.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Friday, March 25, 2005 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held there on Saturday, March 26 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend William McFarland will officiate. Interment will take place at a time convenient to her family in the Riverside Cemetery, Lowman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Roland J.
