Age 99, of 1842 Acorn Rd., Elmira, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2006. She was born September 1, 1906. Dorothy and her husband, Edgar owned and operated ?Coles Lunch? on South Main St., Elmira from September 1936 until July 1964. Dorothy was a secretary in the City School System from 1965-1976 and was known by many as ?Mrs. Riverside?. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Hymes of Tioga, Pa., and brother, Leo Carleton of Albany, N.Y., eight children, Madeline, Edward, Dorothy, Margaret, Nancy, Robert, Mary, and Joseph, forty nine grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Edgar in 1960 and sons, Walter in 1986 and James in 1994. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy, may do so with memorials to Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning, N.Y. 14830.
