Dorothy Irene Hammel

Age 78, of Elmira, NY passed away on Friday, December 24, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Howard M.Hammel, daughters; Cynthia Cartwright of Elmira, NY, Nancy (Gregory) Rice of Ft. Lauderdale FL, grandchildren; Scott of Elmira, NY and Bonnie McCleland of Grandville Summit, PA. Sister; Nancy Chick of Pueblo, CO, also several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Harold and Gertrude Jaquish, sister Martha Jaquish, and Lois Bertram, son in-law; Walter Cartwright and grandson; Michael Cartwright.She was a graduate of Southside High School, and had worked at Thatcher?s Glass Co. in Elmira Heights, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Monday, December 27, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. It was Dorothy?s request that the Funeral Service be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
