Dorothy Lou Kieffer

Age 81 of Elmira, NYShe was born on February 13, 1930. Returned home to the loving arms of our Lord, Saturday, August 27, 2011.Dorothy was the fifth child of Roy R. Hazen and Margaret O. (Peckins) Hazen. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Lester R. Kieffer.Dorothy also out lived her siblings, Edith (Frank) Niles, Sarah (Philip) Munson, Oliver (Ann) Hazen, Marion Hazen and Ralph (Marianne) Hazen. She enjoyed raising four children;Raymond L (Christina),Daniel R., Cindy L. and Margaret A. (Paul K.) Kieffer. Dorothy was blessed with three grandsons Gabriel (Erin), Nathaniel, and Daniel (Anna) Kieffer. She was most proud of her great grandchildren Rachel and Jada- Sky. Dorothy was also a special great grandma to Gianni DeLeo and Robert Deck. Dorothy had many nieces and nephews and treasured the family gatherings and times with them. Dorothy worked at JC Woolworth Company and Trayer Products for 21 years before retiring. In retirement Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, reading and doing puzzles. The family would like to thank Pathways Incorporated and their support staff for that care given their mother through the NHTDso she could remain at home where her heart truly does reside.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport on Friday September 2, 2011, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Friday at 3:00 PM. Pastor William Vallet will officiate. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband Lester in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
