Dorothy R. Thomas

Age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Bethany Manor. She was born April 7, 1922 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Francis and Edith (Cruxton) Lane. Her twin sister, Doris Davis and great nephew, John Knauss predeceased her. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Ferguson of Myrtle Beach, SC; beloved granddaughter, Laurie (Saba) Hekmat of Chatham, NJ; nieces, Dawn (Mike) Haupt of Pine City, NY; Diane Knauss of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; great nieces, Stacey of New Haven, CT; and Christi Haupt of Elmira, NY. Dorothy was employed as a cashier by the A & P Company for 30 years of dedicated service. She also enjoyed working at Panosian?s in Langdon Plaza. She was a faithful member of the Pine City Baptist Church.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral and Committal Services will follow at 8 PM, with the Reverend Horace Stoddard officiating.
