Dorthea Peet

Age 93, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, May 29, 2005, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. She was born December 1, 1911 in Erin, NY, the daughter of the late Wilson C. and Eliza E. (Goldsmith) Rosekrans. Her beloved husband, Stanley Peet, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers also predeceased Dorthea. She is survived by her loving sons, William (Glenora) Peet of Pine City, NY; Lyle Peet of Elmira, NY; along with 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and her extended church family. Dorthea was formerly employed by St. Joseph?s Hospital and worked faithfully in housekeeping for several dedicated years. She was the oldest member of the Elmira Christian Center, where she loved to worship her Lord. Throughout her entire life, she enjoyed cooking for her family and others. We will all miss those wonderful pies she baked for various occasions.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services honoringDorthea?s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 in the Elmira Christian Center, 235 East Miller Street, Elmira, NY 14904 at 12:00PM (noon).The Reverend Belvy White will officiate. Interment will follow in Scotchtown Cemetery, Erin, NY.Memorial donations may be directed to the Elmira Christian Center in Dorthea?s memory.
