Edgar Benjamin â??Ed�? Allen

Age 64 of Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY on Tuesday, July 29, 2003.He was born August 15, 1938 in Elmira, NY, the son of Edgar B. and Mary Theresa Allen, Sr..Ed was preceded in death by his beloved father, Edgar B. Allen, Sr. in 1993. He is survived by his adored wife of 23 years, Sheila D. (Kosty) Allen of Cortland, NY; his loving mother, Mary Theresa (Knovakowski) Allen of Cortland, NY; son, Edward Martin (Robin) Allen of Elmira, NY; three daughters, Barbara Jo Eckman of PA, Terrie Smith of MA, and Christy Herron of TN; one granddaughter, Danielle; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Ed worked for the Rubbermaid Company in Cortland, NY for several years, and also for Thatcher Glass and Moore Business Forms, both of Elmira, NY.He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.He also enjoyed landscaping and gardening.Ed proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Sunday, August 3, 2003 from 4 to 6 PM.Funeral services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours (6 PM), with Rev. William Vallet officiating.Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira at the convenience of the family.
