Edith Elaine Cochran

Age 68 of Charles Street passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 30, 2004. She was born November 7, 1935 in Andover, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Jennie Irene (Spencer) Stearns Sr. Edith is survived by her husband, Carey Cochran of Elmira, NY; daughter, Majil M. Cochran also of Elmira, NY; sons, Daniel L. Cochran of Fletcher, NC; Thomas A. Cochran of Elmira, NY; sisters, Mary Scheepsma of Corning, NY; Teresa Meeler of Augusta, GA; brother, Harry D. Stearns of Gillett, PA; along with 6 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Edith was a Veteran of the US Army, serving with the Military Police from 1958-1960. She took great pride in working for the Elmira/Corning Regional Airport as a Security Officer. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (8:00 PM) The Reverend John Bedzyk will officiate.
