Edith A. Rich

EDITH A. "Edie" RICH Was born February 2, 1921 in Geneva, NY the daughter of the late Lewis and Nora (Bost) Helstrom passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY at the age of 88. Her loving husband, Nicholas M. Rich predeceased her on September 3, 1983. Her sons, Michael L. Rich, Nicholas J. Rich, Joseph P. Rich and granddaughter, Jean Michelle Crocker also preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved daughters and son-in-laws, Gertrude and Joe Harper of Rochester, NY; Theresa and Lewis Hamula of North Ridgeville, OH; Mary and Robert Cohen of Henderson, NV; daughters-in-law, Kathryn Rich, Joanne Rich and Cynthia Rich all of Elmira, NY; along with 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her many friends from the Carpenter Apartments. "Edie" retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after numerous years of faithful dedication in nursing services. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 6 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of her family in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Nicholas. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital Ladies Auxiliary 555 East Market Street Elmira, NY 14901 in her memory.
