October 11, 1915 — July 13, 2010

Age 94 of Bethany Manor formerly of Dutch Hill, Pine City, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010.She was born in Elmira, NY October 11th 1915; daughter to the late Adam and Kathryn (Dailey) Motchman. She is survived by her son; Robert J. and Theresa S. Bower of Horseheads, NY; her grandchildren; Patricia B. Hughs of Horseheads, NY, Robert M. (Mary Kay) Bower of Elmira; great grandchildren; John H. Hughes of NYC, Catherine Hughes of AZ, Kurt, Taylor, Alexis, and Rebecca Bower all of Elmira, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904 Sunday, July 18th, 2010 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and on Monday, July 19th, 2010 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Funeral services will be at the conclusion of the calling hours at 12:00PM. Graveside services will follow at the St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery Elmira. The Reverend Richard Hubbard will officiate. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Frederick R. Bower. Edna retired from the Elmira City School District. She and her husband Fred owned and operated a dairy farm on Dutch Hill for many years. She enjoyed crafting, baking and playing bingo throughout her years. Those wishing may make memorial donations in Edna's name to the First United Church of Christ or to the Notre Dame High School.Special "Thank You." To the staff of the Bethany Manor and the Bethany Courtyards for all their care and compassion shown to Edna and the Bower family throughout her stay.
