Edward Joseph Heppe

Edward Joseph Heppe Jr. Age 67, of Pine City, NY passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Philomena Alexander and Edward J. Heppe, Sr. Ed is survived by his sister, Kathleen (Joseph) Szerszen; nephew, Matthew (Lisa Hemly) Szerszen with children Lauren, Sidney and Dillon; niece, Kristin (Brian) Hoyer with children, Lincoln, Kennedy and McKinley. Ed retired from the Elmira City School District after many years. He enjoyed playing golf, exercising and socializing with friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital, The Falck Cancer Center and CareFirst. A special thank you to Dental Hygienist, Melanee Aiken and Dietitian, Debby Congdon. Ed wanted to thank his friends, neighbors and family, some of whom he called his “Uber drivers”. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. As per Ed’s request there will be no funeral services. The family would like to invite friends to the Elmira Elks Lodge, 300 E. Gray Street, Elmira, NY for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Burial will be in the St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
