Edwin F. French

Was born November 28, 1931 in Elmira the son of the late Francis and Florence (Brown) French, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. His beloved wife, Margaret (Beckhorn) French preceded him in death June 15, 2001 after several years of love and life together. He is survived by his loving children, Edwin F. (Edna) French Jr., Judy (Bud) Edkin, Barb "Beej" (Brian) Hostrander, Ruth (Curt)McGriff and Jeff (Toni) French; along with 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Edwin retired from the Westinghouse Corporation after 30 + years of dedicated service, and also retired from the National Guard after proudly serving his country. He was a faithful member of the Southport Baptist Church as served as usher, transportation coordinator and enjoyed his service in the food pantry which was very special to him. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Friday, October 1st at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Duane C. Arnold Sr. will officiate services for this dedicated servant of Jesus Christ. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest with his beloved Margaret.
