Edwin N. Mathews

Age 59 of Lowman NY. Went to be with his beloved wife Christine on Thursday November 18, 2010. He was the son of the late Edgar and Phyllis (Rinker) Mathews. Edwin is survived by his children, Rebecca (Joe) Spencer, Stephen (Heather) Mathews, and Samantha (Erich) Ferriter; grandchildren, Kayla, Stephen, Kyle, Brittany, Megan, Joe, Chris, Jacob, Paige and Jared; sisters, Charlene (Lynn) Montgomery and Karen (Skip) Reynolds; brother, Benjamin Mathews; also several nieces, nephews, in-laws, special friends and neighbors including Terry & Kim and Bob & Connie and his beloved dog "Penny". Along with his wife Christine, Edwin was also predeceased by brother , Stanley Mathews,sister, Jan Leuken and son in-law, Steve Parker. Edwin was a member of the Sullivan Trail Rod& Gun Club, and avid hunter and outdoorsman. But along with his children the true joy in his life was his grandchildren who he gave his own special names too.Friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, on Monday November 22, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there at 5:00 PM, Pastor Chip Possee will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery.
