Age 65, of Big Flats died Saturday, July 31, 2004 after a courageous battle with ALS "Lou Gerhig's Disease".She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Agan of Big Flats; son, Michael Agan with partner James DeRoo of Plano TX; son, Joseph with wife Heather and grandson Jacob Agan of Elmira; daughter, Lisa Agan of Big Flats; mother, Margaret Stein of Horseheads; brothers, Walter and wife Carol Stein of Big Flats; John and wife Esperanza Stein of Pine City; Thomas and wife Sue Stein of SC; James and wife Kathy Stein of Horseheads; sister-in-law, Kathy Stein of Elmira; brother, Robert and wife Kathy Stein of Elmira; sisters, Elizabeth and Margie Stein of Horseheads; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and husband Michael Horn of DC; Delores and husband Ronald McClellan of FL; brother-in-law Paul and wife Carolyn Agan of Attica; sisters-in-law, Maureen and husband Stephen Kay of AZ; Kathleen and husband Thomas Hamilton of Elmira; brother-in-law, Michael Agan of LA; aunt and uncle, Veronica and Lawrence Doud of Columbia Crossroads, PA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Stein; brother, Lawrence Stein, and parents-in-law Charles & Pauline Agan, all of Elmira.Eileen was a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School class of 1957, a parishioner of St. Cecilia's, St. Mary?s, and St. Peter & Paul Catholic Churches of Elmira. Over the years she worked in the Sears Accounting Department, Griswolds and Frick & Frack Hallmark card shops, Kountry Kitchen and Los Panchos Mexican Restaurant. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and was always there for her family. She was a passionate gardener, friend to the local wild life, and a behind the scenes volunteer to many local charitable organizations.A Christian Mass & Funeral will be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 High Street, Elmira on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Christian Burial in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Elmira, with family and friends gathering afterwards in Saint Mary?s Catholic Church Marion Center for food and refreshments at 224 Franklin St. Elmira.At Eileen's request there will be no calling hours and no flowers.
