Elizabeth C. "Tillie" Badmone

Elizabeth C. (Vaughn) Badmone, better known as "Tillie", passed away on June 5, 2025. She was 88 years old.

She was born in Corning, NY in 1937 to the late Tracy and Edith (Galpin) Vaughn. She was an observant child who learned many mechanical skills by watching her brothers work on the family farm. She spent most of her career with American LaFrance where she worked first as an assembler, and later as a fire apparatus engine mechanic. She was also enjoyed sports and was a devoted NY Yankees and NY Mets fan.

In addition to her parents, Tillie was preceded in death by: her husband Donald M. Badmone; her daughter Donna M. Badmone; and her nine siblings.

She is survived by: her daughters - Patricia (Tom) Ballard of Pensacola, FL, Frances (Edward) Barry of Elmira Heights,NY, and Irene (Kevin) Raznoff of Corning, NY; her six grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be laid to rest along side her husband and daughter in a graveside service, the details of which will be updated here when available.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, 2435 St Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
