Elizabeth M. Cook

August 17, 1920 — January 11, 2010

Age 89, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Her beloved husband, of 59 years, Jesse H. Cook and adored great grandson, Nicholas Cook predeceased her. She is survived by her children, Richard (Sandy) Cook of Elmira, NY; Ann L. Cook of Pine City, NY; David (Paula) Cook of Pine City, NY; much loved grandchildren, Shelly (Steve) Marciniak of Elmira, NY; Stephen (Kelly) Cook of Pine City, NY; Dawn Cook of Shreveport, LA; Phillip (Michelle) Cook of Elmira, NY; adored great grandchildren, Julia Cook, Zachary Marciniak, Nathan Cook, Sean Michael Marciniak, Connor Marciniak, Nolan Cook, Landon Cook, Jacob Cook and Kailin Marciniak; brother-in-law, Walter "Bill" Cook of Pine City, NY. Elizabeth was a faithful member of the Pine City Baptist Church and was also a devoted member of the Women's Guild at the church. She retired from Westinghouse after 25 + years of dedicated service as an inspector. She was also an avid bowler, enjoyed crocheting and loved her dogs and cats. Elizabeth always looked forward to springtime so she could enjoy corn on the cob, her flowers and gardening. She always took great pleasure in cooking meals for her family. A gathering of her family and friends will take place on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. The Reverend Chester Williams will officiate. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family in the Webb Mills Cemetery Pine City, NY where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Jesse. Memorial donations may be directed to the Pine City Baptist Church 1516 Pennsylvania Ave. Pine City, NY 14871 in her memory.
