Age 90, of 1231 North Hoffman Road, Elmira, NY died December 27, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Hospital, Cortland, NY, after a very long battle with Dementia, with her son James and her grandson Justin by her side, and her very special RN friend, Mary (Norma Jean) Morrison and Mrs. Luciel Sopp. Ella Jane was the daughter of the late George and Verna Buchanan. She was born on August 20, 1920 in Elmira. Ella Jane was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph Rozengota and her baby brother Robert George Buchanan and her very close friend and travel companion Elizabeth Ridell. Ella Jane was survived by her loving son James Rozengota and Susan, a daughter, Joan Belin and Ariel, daughter Helen May and Meral, grandchildren James, Mark, Matthew, Patrick, Joseph and Justin Rozengota, Charles, Chrisdee and Brandy Mick, Loren and Danny Belin, her wonderful niece Susan Rozengota Olthof who took care of mothers cats and loving and missed great grandchildren Andrea and Matthew Rozengota of Elmira, and her fellow classmate and RN nurse and great friend of "Bucky's" for 72 years, Mrs. Norma McFarland of Salmon, Idaho. Ella Jane will best be remembered for her unending love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the "cats". She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and at one time the Regent of the local DAR Chapter, and she has the DAR Insignia on her headstone and the DAR Pin on her burial dress, also was a member of "The Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars". She also did volumes of work as a genealogist at the Chemung County Historical Society and the Elmira Library. Ella Jane lived her life for her children and sacrificed much for them and other's. The Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the funeral services which will remain private and closed. If you remember my mother, a note to her home would be greatly appreciated, James.
