Elmer Sylvester Blew

Age 80, of Horseheads, NY and formerly of Trexlertown, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY.Elmer was born May 29, 1925 in Allentown, PA, the son of the late Alger and Helen May (Leiby) Blew. His brother, George Blew, and his 4 sisters of Allentown, PA predeceased Elmer.Mr. Blew was a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1948 to 1956 in Germany during the Korean War.He is survived by his sister-in-law, Esther Blew of Elmira, NY; nieces, Helen Keir of Ulster, PA; Laura Blew, Barbara Blew, Tammie Blew, and nephew, David Blew, all of Elmira, NY.Graveside services with full military honors will be held privately in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.
