Ernest C. "Bucky" Latterell Jr. Was born June 12, 1929 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Ernest C. and Mildred (Richie) Latterell Sr. He went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center with his son at his side. He was greeted in heaven by his loving wife of 63 years, Eleanor Joan (Storms) Latterell; daughter, Sherry Latterell Hayes; son, David Latterell; brothers, Charles and Richard; sister, Eleanor. He is survived by his beloved children: Tom (Christine), Chappy, Debbie, Tammy, Darcy (Clark “Sam”) Smith, Lisa (Richard Harper), Millie and Marian; along with over 60 grand, great and great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his church families. He was a Servant of the Lord at Elmira Christian Center where he was a faithful usher and bus driver for many years. He also ministered with his wife Eleanor at the Bradford County Nursing Facility with the Hour of Cheer and also at the Woodbrook Retirement Home. Bucky was a dedicated chaplain in the ministry as well. He retired as a bus driver with the Chemung County Transit System. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, proudly serving his country from 1946 to 1948. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Elmira Christian Center, 235 East Miller Street, Elmira on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services honoring Bucky’s life will follow the visitation at 6 pm. Pastor Matthew Bedzyk will officiate. Bucky will be laid to rest with his beloved Eleanor at the convenience of his family.
