ERNEST J. HACKETTOf Elmira, NY Went to be with his parents, Lucy Pearl (Ripley) and Ernest Hackett on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 69. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Steven) Stanton; granddaughters, Christina and Jessica Stanton; brothers, Robert (Faith) Appleby, Richard (Ellen) Hackett; sister, Joyce (John) Messina, Ruth Brooks; lifelong friend, Winnie Ostrander. Ernie retired from National Homes after several years of dedicated service. He had many friends and acquaintances in the community. His family welcomes you to come to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. A celebration of his life will follow the visitation at 5 PM. The Reverend David Daniels will officiate. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of his family in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
