Age 91 of Elmira, NY, having lived the last four years in Victor, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Esther was born on June 5, 1931, in Mansfield, PA, the daughter of the late William Wilmot and Diantha (Ashley) Purvis of Mainesburg, PA.
Esther graduated with a Bachelor of Science Music Education in 1953 from Mansfield State Teacher's College. She married her husband, Richard L. Cook on May 31, 1953.
She is survived by her children, Richard Gregory and Maureen (Blake) Cook of Pine City, NY, Lisa (Cook) and John Sweeney of Shortsville, NY, Jeffrey and Tina (Ross) Cook of Macedon, NY; grandchildren, Andrew and Kaila (Evertts) Cook, Jordan and Paige (Bailey) Cook, Allie Cook, Erin (Sweeney) and Andrew Pytlak, Kelsey Sweeney, Christopher and Danielle (Capierseho) Cook, Kathryn Cook; great-grandchildren, James Edison Cook, Greyson Bailey Cook, and soon to welcome, Isabella Rae Cook.
Besides her parents, Esther was predeceased by her husband, Richard L. Cook on March 20, 2016.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
