Age 61 of Pine City, NY, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 15, 2005. The daughter of Marna Munson Smith and her husband, the late Claude A. Smith. Jean was born in Elmira, NY on the 10th day of October 1944. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Claude Schrader; daughter, Jocelyn (Joseph) Moglia of Elmira; sons, Christopher Brown of Florida; Robert Brown of Elmira; stepchildren, Jill (David) Schrader of Perkinsville, NY; Renee (Mike) Jancursio of Rochester; Robert (Michelle) Schrader of Victor; Matthew (Athena) Schrader of Barge Town, KY; and Brett Schrader of Geneseo; 13 grandchildren; sister, Karna (Mark) O?Herron of Elmira; brothers, Earl (Kathy) Smith of Pine City and Andrew Smith of Elmira; niece, Kacey O?Herron of Elmira; and nephew, Brandon Smith of Pine City. In addition to her loving father Claude, her niece, Michelle McDonald also predeceased Jean. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Friday, November 18th, 2005 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral and committal services celebrating her life will be held at the First Baptist Church, 121 W. Church Street, Elmira, NY on Saturday, November 19th, 2005 at 11:00AM. The Reverend Dennis Christiansen will officiate. Burial will take place privately in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. Jean will be always remembered for her addicting laugh, being a loving mother and grandmother, and for the love and attention she gave to others.She attended services at the First Baptist Church of Elmira and in the past, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was very active in her children?s lives. Being a transplant recipient herself, she found solace in the time she spent in the Transplant Support group. She loved reading and writing poetry. Jean let her heart drive her spirit through life, for that she will be missed by all. Her giving will never stop through the memories she has left. Memorial donations may be made in Ethel Jean?s name to the Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905.
