Age 80, of Rolling Acres Pine City, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, with her family at her side. She was born February 6, 1925 in Canton, PA, the daughter of the late Pearl and Susan (Morse) Thomas.Ethel married Charles A. Buckholtz Sr. on February 10, 1945 in Elmira, NY, in St. John?s with Reverend Winteroffe presiding. Her loving husband, Charles, whom she enjoyed 60 wonderful years of life and love with, survives her; beloved son, Charles A. Buckholtz Jr. of Lowman, NY; brothers, Robert (Delores) Thomas of Rochester, NY; Edward (Ginny) Thomas of Springhill, FL; sister, Margaret (Byron) Fisher of Owego, NY; along with several nieces and nephews.Ethel loved and enjoyed her Yorkshire Terriers. She was a former communicant of St. John?s Church and presently a communicant of St. Mary?s Church.For 28 ½ years she was a dedicated employee at the Remington Rand, working on the Nordan sight and she later retired from Corning Inc., after 17 ½ years of faithful service with quality control.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Monday, October 24, 2005 from 1 to 3 PM. Funeral Services celebrating her life will follow the visitation. (3:00 PM) The Reverend Richard Farrell will officiate. Interment will follow in Fitzsimmons Cemetery, in the Town of Southport, NY.Memorial Donations may be directed to the Heart Institute, c/o Arnot Ogden Medical Center, 600 Roe Ave., Elmira, NY 14905, ATTN: Susan Reynolds.
