Age 97, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Elcor Health Services, where she has resided the past several years and received the utmost care.She was born August 1, 1907 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Lawes) Combs. Ethel was predeceased by her loving husband, William G. Todd; sisters, Crystal Rafferty, Marie Bennett, Bessie Smith and Beatrice Bennett; brother, Joseph Combs.She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Charles G. and Patricia A. Todd of Elmira, NY; sister, Dorothy Dann of Painted Post, NY; brother-in-law, Philip Rafferty of Elmira, NY; much loved grandsons and their spouses, Richard W. and Catherine Todd of Elmira, NY; Timothy P. and Sherry Todd also of Elmira, NY; Michael C. and Joy Todd of Pine City, NY; Joseph C. and Bonnie Todd of Big Flats, NY; along with 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Kresge and Woolworth?s department stores previously employed Ethel. She retired from Dalyrmple Gravel and Contracting Company Inc. as a clerk, following several years of faithful and dedicated service. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the gift shop in the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, April 15, 2005 from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services honoring Ethel?s life will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. The Reverend William Vallet will celebrate her services.The family will provide their own flowers. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at a time convenient to the family, where her grandsons, Richard, Timothy, Michael, Joseph and honorary pallbearer Philip Rafferty, will escort Ethel to her final resting place.Ethel will be laid to rest next to her beloved William.
