Age 94, died March 25, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard L. Appleman and four brothers, Henry, Ray, George, and Hugh Mapes and two sisters, Ethyl Keeler and Minnie Reed. Eunice is survived by her daughter, Beverly A. (Sidney) Shepherd; brother, Delmar Mapes of Corning; grandchildren, Marc S. (Julie) Shepherd, Michelle S. (Duane) Saxton, Marcie S. (Mark) Hamilton, and Martin T. (Kathy) Shepherd; great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Drew Shepherd, Megan and Kyle Saxton, Ellie and Mollie Hamilton, and Lauren, Stephanie, and Matthew Shepherd; niece, Connie Palyun of Painted Post; and nephew, Erford ?Sonny? Keeler of Corning. She was a 50-year member of Harmony-Loyal Chapter of Eastern Star, 50-year member of the Court of the Amaranth, and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was employed by the Chemung County Sales Tax and retired from New York State Correctional Facility in Elmira. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Rural Home Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials to Centenary United Methodist Church, 424 S.
