passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010. Shewas born December 1, 1917 in Elmira NY. Florence was predeceased by her loving husband,Clitius; her sister, Thelma Novak and brothers Clyde and Harold Cornish. Florence issurvived by her children Joy(Bill Gettman) of Albany, NY, Gary of Clarksville, TN andJan (Rich) LaBue of Rochester, NY. She also leaves grandchildren Heather, Raechael, Sarahand Taylor, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.Florence was an RN for over 60 year. She served in World War II as an Army Corpsnurse, second lieutenant. She continued her medical profession as an RN and was a nursinginstructor at Arnot Ogden for 18 years. Florence volunteered through Veteran's events, NorthChurch Food Pantry, Hospice, American Heart Association, a volunteer parent aide for C.I.D.S. and numerous charitable events. She was a member of North Presbyterian Church for 60 years. Florenceenjoyed her family, friends, church events, traveling, music, theater and long walks around town. A Graveside Service will be held Friday December 3, 2010 at 11 AM in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY. Family and friends are also invited to attend a Memorial Service in Florence's honor on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at noon at North Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 921 College Ave., Elmira, NY 14901.
