Elmira -- Florence M. Hotchkiss, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira, NY Florence was born July 6, 1916 in Mildred, PA.She was the daughter of William and Minnie Bahr Van Horn. Florence is survived by her daughter, Darlene Willard of the US Virgin Islands, son, John (Cindy) Hotchkiss of Macedon, three grandchildren, Kathy Willard of the US Virgin Islands, Lisa (Andy) Wacht of Pleasantville, NY and Eric Hotchkiss of Fredonia, NY, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.Florence is also survived by a sister-in-law, Pearl May of Elmira, NY.She was predeceased by her husband, DuBois (Bud) C. Hotchkiss, in 1987, and also predeceased by her three brothers, Harland Van Horn, Revilo Van Horn and William Van Horn. Florence worked at Remington Rand as a secretary and as an inspector.During WWII, she worked on Colt parts.She married Dubois in 1942. Florence and Bud enjoyed their summers at their cottage on Keuka Lake for 23 years.Florence was a faithful supporter of Elmira College's men's hockey team, loved going to the Pioneer baseball games, and was on women's and couples' bowling teams for many years.Florence was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees.She also loved her card games with her dear friends. Friends may call on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY with a funeral service following at 4 PM.
