Florence S Parker

Florence S. Parkerof Elmira Heights, NYFormerly of 133 West 11th Street, was born October 20, 1918 in Phoenix, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Lawrence) Sperbeck, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 89. Her loving husband of 62 years, Rudolph D. Parker Sr. also predeceased her February 9, 1998. She is survived by her beloved sons and daughter-in-laws, Rudolph D. and Jacqueline Parker Jr. of Elmira Heights, NY; Lance C. and Nancy Parker of Livonia, NY; Vance and Sandra Parker Elmira Heights, NY; along with 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Florence was employed for several years as a hostess at the former Howard Johnson Restaurant in Horseheads, NY and retired from the former A & P Plant also in Horseheads. At her request there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Maple Grove Cemetery 715 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Deborah Roof will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the gravesite where Florence will be laid to rest with her beloved Rudolph. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Road Corning, NY 14830.
