At age 99, Florence Yeska, of South Broadway Wellsburg NY, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. After World War II, Florence and her husband, Art, started and operated a profitable poultry farm. She also served as an employee of St. Joseph's Hospital working in the Central Service department for many years. In her senior years she enjoyed sitting on her big front porch watching the wild birds she fed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur; son, Charles "Chuck"; grandson, Charles Jr. "Chucky", brother, William "Bill" Myers; brother and sister-in-law, Walter "Huckle" and Evelyn Myers, nephew; Walter "Wally" Myers, special friend and co-worker, Jean Clearwater.She is survived by her granddaughter, Yvonne Yeska and her husband Wendell Baschnagel; great granddaughters, Jessica Pepin, Allison Pepin, Cori Lee Yeska; daughter-in-law, Rita Yeska; grandsons; Kerry Murray and Randy Murray sister-in-law, Evelyn Myers; nephew, Walt (Joy) Myers; nieces, JoAnn (Harvey) Harris, Mary Lou (Jim) Loomis, who have been caregivers for Florence the last 15 years, along with their daughter, Marie Evans and special friend, Maggie Pepin as well as nephew; Bill Myers and niece; Nancy Myers. Mary Lou was a dear friend of Florence, and was always trusted with making the right decisions on her behalf, although some decisions were difficult at times, Florence loved Mary Lou dearly. A gathering of her family and friends willbe held at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 6:00 PM.
