Frank C. Hammond

Age 80, passed away Tuesday, June 5th, 2007 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Frank was the son of the late Frank and Geralene Whitney Hammond. He was born in Wellsboro, PA, on December 24th, 1926. He is predeceased by his loving wife and friend Helen, who passed away June 20, 2005. Frank is survived by his son, Frank Bill(Coleen) Hammond of Southport; daughter, Susan Hammond of Horseheads; son, Robert (Catherine) Hammond of Southport; sister, Geri Hammond of Elmira; grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, John, Cathy, Tom (Cherie), Marty (Lisa), Eric (Bethany), Jennifer (Rich), Jessica, Julie; great grandchildren, Madison and Joey.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday evening, June 7th, 2007 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and Friday from 11:00AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 1:00PM. Reverend William Vallet will officiate. Graveside services will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery.Frank retired from Moore Business Forms after 40 years of dedicated service.He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. Frank had a passion for big band music. He loved performing with his band, The Frank Hammond Orchestra, at various locations around the area.
