Frederick S. â??Fred�? Wheeler

Passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at the age of 82. Fred was born in Elmira and lived in Canton, PA until 1951, when he returned to Elmira. In addition to Barbara, his wife of 60 years, Fred is survived by his children: John (Kathleen) Wheeler of Greece, NY; James (Sharon) Wheeler of Elmira, NY; Joette (Phil) Devon of Penfield, NY; Frederick (Angela) Wheeler III of Burkburnett, TX; William (Colleen) Wheeler of Elmira, NY; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Fred are his sister, Irene (Robert) Kendall of Troy, PA; brother, Robert Wheeler of Elmira; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Wheeler and Jayne Wheeler, both of Canton, PA; and Audrey Heess of Phoenix AZ. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Frances Wheeler of Canton, PA; brothers, Harold Wheeler and Scott Wheeler, also of Canton, PA.; sister, Mary MacBlane of Elmira; sister-in-law, Joyce Wheeler of Elmira; brothers-in-law, Louis MacBlane of Elmira; and Walter Heess of Phoenix, AZ; and great-grandchild, Christopher Wheeler of Rochester, NY. Fred was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Albee Truck, Inc. Family and friends may call Sunday, October 13, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY. A remembrance service will be held there on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 11:00 AM with interment immediately following in Fitzsimmons Cemetery in Southport, NY. The Rev.
