Frederick J. Pelchy

Age 88, formerly of Elmira, passed away Monday, June 14th, 2010 at the Bath Veterans Hospital after an extended illness. Fred is survived by his wife of 68 years Jean (Rudd) Pelchy; daughter, Linda (Ronald) Teribury of Gillett, PA; 3 grandsons; James, Tim and Keith all of Gillett, PA and one granddaughter; Becky Bradley along with several great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY, Friday, June 18th, 2010 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Fred will follow the calling hours at 7:00PM. The Reverend Allen Goss will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. Fred was a World War II ARMY medic. He retired from Hardinge Brothers with 21 years of dedicated service. In December 1977 Fred opened and operated Fred's Bait and Tackle in Watkins Glen, NY until July 1984. He was a devoted family man, avid golfer and he loved to fish.
