Was born July 19, 1932 in Elmira the son of the late Frederick W. and Thelma (Ball) Redner passed peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan, NY at the age of 74. His sister, Artene Harris and infant grandson predeceased him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley (Tucker) Redner; sons, Todd and Scott; grandchildren, Katie (Matt), Emily and Kyle; brother, Albert (Linda) of Big Flats, NY; sister, Shirley (Paul) Ellsworth of Attica, NY; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws. He also leaves behind his life-long neighbors and special friends who he always was there to help in spite of his own health problems. Fred was happiest in his garage and backyard working on his lawnmowers or having a cold one with his friends at Macs Bar. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving his country from 1953 to 1955. In 1989, he retired from the Elmira City School Board after 33 dedicated years of service. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
