Frieda Gilbert

Frieda Ricky Aicher-Rocke Gilbert Loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend Age 82, of Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully at home with her children and grandchildren at her side. She was born in Vienna, Austria on June 9, 1926. Frieda is survived by six children; Nicholas (Becky) Gilbert, Roseann (Edward) Moffe, Patty (Neil) Brown, Mike (Ellie) Gilbert, George (Marjorie) Gilbert, and Joey (Cheryl) Gilbert, also 17 grandchildren, sisters; Anna Schwarz and Ellie Doleschal of Austria, several nieces, nephews and her beloved friends at Fairport Terrace Apartments. Her husband Nicholas Gilbert and brother, Kurt Rocke, predeceased her.The family will receive friends on Monday April 27, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue Elmira/Southport NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in St Peter and Paul's Church, corner of St. Joseph's St. and High Street, Elmira, Father Walter Wainwright will celebrate the mass. Followed by graveside prayers in Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, Elmira Heights, NYIn lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials to the American Cancer Society or Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
