Age 78, of 1654 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011. Ray was born on November 26, 1932 in Elmira, NY to Leon and Marie (Lockner) Andrews. He is survived by his wife Alixe (Langham) Andrews and his five children, Larry (Vesta) Andrews, Cynthia (Timothy) Rohr, Michael Andrews, Ann-Marie (John) Imhoff and Kimberly (Howard) VanSkiver; 9 grandchildren; Ryan and Joanna Andrews, Jaeson (Desire), Andrew (Lindsay) and Julianne Rohr, Karl and Lucas Imhoff, Tonya and Derek VanSkiver and 1 great greandchild, Deucalion Rohr. He is also survived by his sister, Eloise Gage and brother, Duane (Lee) Andrews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Arden Andrews. He is also survived by good friends of 50+ years. Over the years Ray enjoyed memberships with the Eagles Club, Horseheads Elks Club, the NRA and the Sportsmans Clubs of Breesport and South Creek. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. His employment began with a 4 year apprenticeship with American LaFrance in 1951 and included positions with Bendix- Purolator and LRC Electronics. Ray retired from Thomas and Betts in 1996.He was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed gardening. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 1 pm to 3 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm with funeral service there at 3:00 pm.Reverend Chet Williams will officiate.
