Age 46, of Colonial Drive, Horseheads, NY, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 28, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. George was born May 16, 1959 in Elmira, NY, the son of Ralph and Margaret Jane (Mills) Carney. In 1983, his father, Ralph, predeceased him. He is survived by his loving mother, Margaret of Elmira, NY; beloved siblings, brother, Robert (Kathleen) Carney of Pine City, NY; sisters, Alyce (Kevin) Courtney of Elmira, NY; Betty E. Carney of Elmira, NY; step-sisters, Marilyn Lear of Horseheads, NY; Carol Garrett of Liverpool, NY; nieces, Karen (Philip) Avery of Elmira, NY; Casandra Carney (fiancée James Comfort III) of Horseheads, NY; Colleen Carney of Athens, PA; along with 3 great nieces. George was an avid bowler with ARC and especially enjoyed bowling at the Rossi Bowling Lanes. He was a member of North Presbyterian Church and a 1979 graduate of Southside High School.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 from 5 to 8 PM. Funeral services honoring George?s life will follow the visitation. (8:00 PM) The Reverend Gary Chorpenning will celebrate the services. Interment will take place privately and at the convenience of his family.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to a charity of one?s choice in George?s memory.
