Age 89, formerly of Pine City, NY, passed away at the Bath VA Medical Center on April 11, 2005.George was born January 22, 1916 in Elmira, NY, to the late Fred and Frances (Mander) Lockner. He was predeceased by his wife, Belva M. (Cummings) Lockner in 1995, brothers, Fred, Kenneth, and Don, and sisters-in-law, Wanda and Florence.His survivors include his daughters, Suzanne (Jack) Shappee and Joan (Chuck) Aumick; grandsons, David (Karen) Shappee, Jack Shappee, Gregory (Lara) Aumick, Mark (girlfriend Linda) Aumick, Richard (Mary) Aumick; granddaughter, Karen Urbaniak; great-grandsons, Logan Urbaniak and Alex Aumick; great-granddaughters, Alyssa Shappee and Lacey Aumick; brother, Robert Lockner; sister-in-law, Hilda Lockner; along with several nieces and nephews.George was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946.He retired in 1979, after 40 years of service as a truck driver for Berman´s Motor Express.George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by his loved ones.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 12 to 1 PM, with funeral services immediately following at 1 PM.Rev.
