George M. Nichols

Was born November 12, 1946 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Louis and Anne (Morse) Nichols, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital at the age of 65. His brothers, Lyle, Louis "Steve" and sister, Carol preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Joyce (Ellis); step-children, Danna, Christina, Tammy and Tina; 14 grandchildren; beloved siblings: Wendy (Thomas Smith), Scott (Laura), Robert "Bob" (Cindy); along with special nephew, Scotty; special niece, Teresa (Tim); special cousins, Joseph "Butch" (Carol), William " Bill", Joyce (Harold); mother-in-law, Bernetta Ellis; brother-in-law, Harold (Ginny); sister-in-laws, Shirley Andrews, Marion Emerson, Gert Tyler, Brenda Howard and Linda (Dillon) Kalkhurst; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. George retired from Tyler Fire Equipment as fire apparatus service technician after many years of dedicated service. He was a Veteran of the USMC proudly serving his country during the Viet Nam War. At his request there will be no prior services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY.
