Gerald A. Raker

Age 63 of Painted Post, NY passed away unexpectedly at Robert Packer Hospital on Tuesday, November 25, 2003.Gerald was born in Blossburg, PA to the late George A. and Dorothy Boinski Raker.He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sharyn Hart Raker; children, Yolanda Johnson and James Raker, both of Arkansas; Stacey Ramsdell of Elmira, NY; Gerald A. Raker, Jr. of Tacoma, WA; Mark A. Raker of Rochester, NY; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Raker of MA; John Raker of Syracuse, NY; Doug Raker of Bradford, NY; best friend, Gary Anderson of Corning, NY; and several nieces and nephews.Gerald was a US Navy veteran and retired from Hakes Construction Co.He was very involved with the Corning VFW Post #524 and the Ernest Skinner Memorial American Legion Post #1612 in Big Flats.Gerald was the original owner and operator of Raker?s Limousine & Taxi Service.He enjoyed golf and hunting, and was always doing things for others. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 115 E. High St., Painted Post, NY on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at 11 AM.Interment will be in the Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Painted Post, NY at the convenience of the family.Memorial donations in Gerald?s name may be directed to the Corning VFW Post #524, 218 Baker St., Corning, NY 14830.Those wishing may leave a ?Candle of Remembrance? for the family at www.olthof.com.
