Gertrud Anna

Went home to the Lord on Wednesday, May2, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief hospitalization. She was born in Hanau, Germany to Wilhelm and Wilhelmine Kleinhens on July 5, 1930. She was married to the love of her life, her late husband David Jay and came to America in 1953. She was blessed with 4 sons. Gertrud held a fulltime position as a cook in her local home town restaurant. She was most definitely admired by many for her excellent work ethic. She was a great people person who was totally dedicated to her family. Most recently she resided at the Country Terrace in Wellsboro, PA. She is survived by her sons, Reimund (Brenda) Low of Greensboro, NC; Timothy (Denice) Low of Tioga, PA; Michael (Kay) Low of Rome, PA; and Kevin Low of Mansfield, PA. She is also survived by her sisters, Renate (Anthony) Nardi of Philadelphia, PA; and Anita Strange of Blossburg, PA; brother, Herburt Kleinhens of Hanau, Germany. She was blessed by 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral and committal services will follow the visitation at 3 PM. The Reverend Alan Hulslander will celebrate Gertrud's services.
