Gladys B. Raplee

Was born December 11, 1917 in Vernon, CT the daughter of the late Edwin and Emma E. (Anderson) Baker passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2007 peacefully at her home at the age of 89. Her loving and devoted husband, Clifford Raplee predeceased her July 27, 1997. She was the last survivor of ten children in the Baker family. Gladys is survived by her son, Richard F. Bellows of Long Beach, CA; grandson, Joseph Bellows of Irvine, CA; loving caretakers and close friends, Dale and Martha Kress Sr. of Gillett, PA; Dale Kress Jr. and Dan Kress both of Gillett, PA; sister-in-law, Faye Dean of Canton, PA; nieces, Mary Raplee of Sodus Point, NY; Faith Clark and Joyce Knight both of Watkins Glen, NY; Barbara Lavey of East Windsor Hill, CT; nephew, Dan Riccio Jr. of East Hartford, CT. Gladys was a gifted Tole painter and owned and operated her own Tole painting shop out of her home for many years. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxilary of the South Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will be celebrated following the visitation at 7 PM. The Reverend Charles Root will officiate.
